“Whether planning for retirement or trying to send their kids to college, financial
planning can be stressful. I want to help families articulate and meet their goals.”
– Shaun Cavanagh
For Shaun Cavanagh, wealth management advising is a perfect intersection of his interests: analyzing the markets and advocating for clients. Wambolt & Associates is the ideal environment in which he can contribute his financial acumen and help families achieve their financial goals.
“It can be daunting for people to navigate the wealth management space,” said Cavanagh. “Whether planning for retirement or trying to send their kids to college, financial planning can be stressful. I want to help families articulate and meet their goals.”
The University of Michigan graduate’s experience in the field comes from more than eight years working for Charles Schwab & Company in Chicago. Cavanagh focused on financial planning, investment management, and tax and estate planning for high net worth families and small business owners. He quickly rose through the ranks at Schwab and was recognized with the company’s performance-based Key Contributor Award in three consecutive years. At the end of the day, building relationships with clients always took priority.
“My goal was to take the very massive entity of Schwab and make it more understandable and manageable for clients,” said Cavanagh. “I see the industry as relationship-driven and my desire is to help families and small businesses customize their investment strategy to best serve their interests.” Wambolt’s white glove approach to client service is one of the many attributes that attracted Cavanagh to the firm. Working for an independent advisory firm has been a “breath of fresh air” for Cavanagh who is embracing the opportunity to craft more customized plans for clients, and to build stronger relationships with them over the long-term.
