On Saturday, October 7th, Senior Wealth Management Advisor Cindy Alvarez and our Administrative Assistant Ashley Schultz participated in the 2nd Annual Avs 5K Walk, Run, Skate in Downtown Denver. It was a chilly morning full of inspiration, camaraderie, and fun, all centered around supporting the Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation.
We, the Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation, are committed to supporting the hockey family. By accessing the unique power and compassion of the hockey community, we celebrate life and provide help in times of crises due to catastrophic injury or illness.
Cindy and Ashley spent the morning enjoying music and games, and cheering on the skaters (they chose to run and walk!) as they took off from the starting line. The race ended inside the Pepsi Center alongside cheering fans and their favorite, the bubble machine. After they were presented with their medals, they heard from Marty Richardson, the founder and Executive Director of Dawg Nation. Marty presented a check to a fellow hockey family and race finisher, who was injured in a wakeboarding accident. Seeing the joy on the face of the family and the inspiration that this foundation brings to so many families was the highlight of the day.
The ladies were also able to enjoy Avs Opening Night on October 11th at their first game vs. the Boston Bruins. It was an honor to participate in this event, which supports such an amazing organization that is very near and dear to our hearts, after the tragic loss of Dustin Wambolt 6 years ago, son of the founder and owner of Wambolt & Associates, Greg Wambolt.
